A monthly cycle
If you want to know what’s happening to your body, here’s a rough guide to your monthly cycle.
Your period is said to be the beginning of your menstrual cycle. The egg and the lining are released from your body.
Your ovaries release a tiny egg. While your uterus starts to build up a protective lining.
If the egg isn’t fertilised the lining starts to break down. This is when you begin to get your period and the cycle repeats itself again.
